About Me

As a driven and highly experienced engineering leader, I have a demonstrated record of achievement in leading global research and development (R&D) teams and driving the software beginning-to-end journey. I leverage combined business, strategic, and technical acumen to provide solutions that maximize revenue and optimize cost control for millions of customers. My greatest success has been in developing forward-thinking strategies and product road maps that solve the most complex business and engineering challenges.


In my current role as vice president of FileMaker Platform Engineering for Apple’s subsidiary Claris, I lead the customer-centric strategic direction, business operations, and product development and delivery, guiding top global teams of engineers in driving the evolution of the FileMaker product portfolio. In addition to employing a customer-based approach to align business strategy with the needs of our global customer base, I also serve as a hands-on mentor to Claris’s development teams as a company champion for professional development.

  • Vice President of Claris FileMaker Platform Engineering (2020 - present) Cupertino, California, United States
    Oversee strategic planning, product development, and business operations for FileMaker engineering division encompassing innovation and R&D for FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Server, FileMaker Web Direct, FileMaker Cloud, FileMaker Go, and FileMaker Marketplace for Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud, macOS, Windows, Linux, and iOS. Evaluate customer feedback and serve as chief product owner leading global teams of engineers in driving customer-focused evolution and improvement of product line, enhancing cloud experience, and identifying and resolving product issues. Engage with critical business partners, stakeholders, and customers to ensure future success.

  • Vice President of Product Release Engineering - FileMaker (2014 - 2020)

Led global product development, delivery, and quality assurance engineering for FileMaker product line. Managed internal business and ecommerce operations, while fostering strong relationships with key vendors. Drove digital transformation to streamline processes and improve product development and delivery metrics. Coordinated Yokohama, Japan engineering team unit’s location, staffing, training, and standard operating procedures. Also served as board of directors for FileMaker China entity.


  • General Manager - FileMaker (2006-2014) China

From ground zero, developed organizational design for China division with a strategic vision to create and shape Beijing team resembling Silicon Valley operations. Oversaw sales, marketing, and customer support functions for China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Middle East regions while continuing leadership guidance to US headquarters on China strategy. Led development of engineering teams, team leaders and managers, providing R&D, quality assurance, and client support training for entire FileMaker platform engineering teams.


  • Vice President of Product Release Engineering - FileMaker (2000 - 2006)

Led engineering teams in development and delivery of global versions of ClarisWorks, FileMaker, Claris Impact, and Claris Emailer. Led establishment of Ottawa office, and New Brunswick outsourcing team for FileMaker in Canada, overseeing development of engineering, testing, and global product delivery.



Some notable highlights of my career achievements include:


• Transforming the global operations of engineering teams to the agile methodology to drive innovative R&D, and improve development and delivery of FileMaker’s suite of products internationally in all major languages.

• Driving Claris’s shift to a customer-focused culture by creating an inner core group of top customers that is given first access to development builds, providing critical feedback to improve customer experiences and product optimization.

• Utilizing my deep educational background and passion for driving the professional development of peers within the Asian-American community, providing hands-on mentorship and classes to inspire and shape future leaders within the technology industry.
